One of the objectives of the SafeNet project is to improve the understanding of perpetual access rights and entitlement to subscribed titles. Last month we described the Entitlement Registry, which will provide information on an institution’s entitlement rights and act as a source of authorisation to licensed content in the SafeNet Archive.
A new post talks about the Rights Registry in particular, which will provide clear and authoritative information provided by publishers with regards to perpetual access: for example, does the publisher permit perpetual access? To what range of material do the rights apply? Are fees required?
